delweiss Lodge has been family owned and operated since 1982. Edelweiss began in the 1920's as a humble campground along side the old Banning to Idyllwild stagecoach road (what a ride that must have been!) When you take the tour we'll point out the old stagecoach stop across the street. The "Hill" is alive with a history rich in stories of Indians, Cowboys, Loggers, Healers, Movie Stars, Artists, Musicians - and a quaint mile high mountain atmosphere rivaling any to be found! Unique in Southern California, this mountain range (the San Jacinto) has not a single stoplight. A world away from the hurried stress of the city yet only a 2 to 2-1/2 hour drive from most Southern California Urban areas. A darling Alpine village with restaurants of the world, art galleries, and unique gift shops all blended into a cultural venue of Music and Theatrical Arts.

The mountains of Idyllwild boast some of the best hiking and rock climbing in the world. Mountain biking, fishing, unique shopping, seasonal horseback riding, cross-country skiing and adventuring abound. Hiking trails range from gentle to difficult through "America's Cleanest Forest". Enjoy The Edelweiss Experience and Be as active as you want or more relaxed then you can imagine - the forest will surely cleanse your soul!
